Online Patient Information
Finding online patient information you can trust can often be a challenge. Misinformation and bias can affect the quality and accuracy of online patient information. This session will show you how to find trustworthy, high quality, online patient information to use in leaflets, and to share with patients and their families or carers.

Effective Searching Skills
Do you want to learn how to find relevant evidence to support patient care, service improvement, a quality improvement project or research study? We can teach you how to:
create a search strategy and methodology from a search question
develop and use techniques that can make your search more effective and comprehensive
identify the key concepts within a question and the relevant alternative terms, different principles and techniques for searching

Critical Appraisal
This session will introduce the process of carefully and systematically assessing the way a published study was conducted to judge and examine its trustworthiness, validity, generalisability and relevance. During the session learners will use critical appraisal checklists and tools, to evaluate and appraise a research paper.

AI Literacy
Curious about AI, but not sure where to start? This session will take a balanced approach to guide you through confusing jargon and help to explain what AI is, provide cautionary advice and help you to understand how (and if!) it can help you.

Publishing for Beginners
This session is aimed at anyone interested in getting published for the first time. It introduces subscription and open access publishing models, explaining their benefits and drawbacks. It outlines techniques for identifying appropriate journals and highlights the dangers of predatory publishing. Finally, it introduces core concepts including peer review, research data, and authorship criteria.
